When December is approaching there is a breath of winter in the autumn air. It is getting colder day by day. The cold makes the hands cold and stiff. People put on warm clothes.
And then suddenly soft, white snowflakes are falling thick and fast covering the ground and roofs. When the branches of the fir trees and pines are covered with snow they look beautifully. The snow lies thick upon the ground and birds hop about looking for food.
A lot of icicles all glittering in the sun hang from roofs of houses. Everything seems to be covered into a white blanket. Rivers and lakes are covered with a thick ice and you can skate on them.
Winter is a jolly time for children. They make snowmen and play snowballs. When the weather is fine children and grown-ups go skiing, skating or sliding down the snow covered hills.
It is also a season of loud celebrations, as there are many holidays during winter days. We celebrate Christmas and New Year and these are my favourite holidays of the year. As you see there are many reasons for me to like this season.

ПЕРЕКЛАД
Коли наближається грудень, в осінньому повітрі відчувається подих зими. Стає холодніше з кожним днем. Мороз робить руки холодними і жорсткими. Люди одягають теплий одяг.
І раптом починають падати м'які, білі сніжинки, які швидко покривають землю і даху тост шаром. Коли гілки ялини і сосни покриті снігом, вони виглядають дуже красиво. Сніг лежить товстим шаром на землі, і птиці стрибають в пошуках їжі.
Багато бурульок блищать на сонці, звисаючи з дахів будинків. Все здається вкритим білою ковдрою. Річки та озера покриті товстим шаром льоду, і ви можете кататися на них.
Зима веселий час для дітей. Вони ліплять сніговиків і грають в сніжки. Коли погода гарна, діти і дорослі катаються на лижах, ковзанах або спускаються вниз по засніжених горбах.
Це також пора гучних святкувань. У зимові дні є багато свят. Ми святкуємо Різдво і Новий рік, і це мої улюблені свята року. Як бачите, у мене є багато причин любити цю пору року.
